KZN Flood relief

The recent floods in KwaZulu Natal have left many families homeless and grieving as they are confronted with the awful reality of losing loved ones and their homes. The death toll is now at 85, and the number of those displaced is in the thousands. While we cannot take away the loss, we can do what we can to help those who are now rebuilding their homes and their lives.

The Rivers Foundation will be actively involved with the community to provide support and aid, and to help rebuild the homes that were lost. We are appealing to our congregation to show practical support as we come together to uplift those in this plight. The following is a list of resources that will make a great difference:

  • Blankets
  • Clean clothing in good condition
  • Toiletries (Soap, washing rags, toothbrushes and toothpaste, body lotion, sanitary napkins, roll on etc)
  • Food: Oil, Sugar, teabags, long life or powdered milk, salt, samp, beans, mealie meal, coffee, vegetables etc
  • Kitchen Equipment: Pots, pans, cups, plates, spoons etc
  • Building material or funding towards building material: Cement, bricks, building sand, plastering sand, door frames, doors, paint, rafters, window frames, tiles etc
