ABOUT
Our weekend services include dynamic worship with a life-changing message, and aim to inspire and equip the whole family. We are a Christ-centred church that preaches the truth about Jesus in a fresh, illustrative and creative way. We actively reach out through our weekly services, television programme, Life By Design, foundation to the poor and community relationships. As a result, we are a fast-growing church that started with 70 people and currently exceeds 15 000 people across 5 campuses, located in Sandton, Kyalami, Centurion, Durban North and Ballito.
We love God passionately, love people unconditionally and live life purposefully. We believe in our nation and are totally committed to serving the purposes of God and making a significant difference to the lives of people in their spiritual, social, emotional and physical worlds. Rivers aims for excellence in every area of ministry, because we place high value on the church and its people. We believe that God is good and that He wants to help, bless, grow, enlarge, change and release people’s potential.

Senior Pastors
Since 1992, André and Wilma Olivier have been the senior pastors of Rivers. They have grown the church from just 70 people into a church of thousands and are responsible for the vision, values and culture of the multi-campus church.

Weekend Services
Our weekend services include dynamic worship with a life-changing message, and aim to inspire and equip the whole family.
Kidszone Children’s Church offers an action-packed ministry programme during all services for children age 1 – grade 7, in a safe, secure and loving environment.
Junior Youth offers age-specific ministry and fun for grades 8 – 9 during Sunday morning services.
All services and events start on time. Punctuality is a key value at Rivers, contributing to a spirit of excellence. For the safety and security of all children and families, the campus gates are closed, and Kidszone cannot accept registrations 15 minutes into the start of all services.
Communion is held once a month during all services.
* Please note that we close our gates 15 minutes after the start of our weekend services. This is to ensure the safety of everyone on campus.
Leadership and Management
Rivers has been pastored by André and Wilma Olivier for more than three decades, they are accountable to an advisory board consisting of key businessmen and leaders who bring perspective and add value to the senior pastors.
What We Believe
The foundations of every house are hidden, yet they are vitally important to the stability of the house. So too the foundational beliefs that undergird a church contribute to the stability and real strength of that spiritual house. Rivers is not just a contemporary church moving with trends, but a solid, theologically sound, Bible-based church with a 21st century expression.
Volunteering
Volunteering is a basic biblical principle that we embrace and encourage. God has given each of us unique gifts, talents and abilities that can be used to make a difference in the church and the world. Each of us can play a valuable part in enlarging and progressing the church – a strong volunteer army can build a more effective church for Christ.

Integration Courses
The purpose of our integration courses is to integrate people into the life of the church.
Getting Started
Getting Started will help you gain a basic understanding of Christianity and learn to stand in God. Building a strong foundation from the beginning is vital for a successful walk with God. This course will also cover basic principles and help integrate you into the life of Rivers Church.
Partnership
The Partnership Course will go in depth into our vision, values and culture, and share more about the journey of Rivers Church and the exciting future ahead of us.
Premarital
The Premarital course will help you build a strong, Christian marriage based on biblical values and principles. It will also help you to communicate better with each other and understand the role of a husband and wife.
The Holy Spirit: An Introduction
The Holy Spirit Course is an introduction to the third person of the Godhead: who He is, His attributes, and how He expresses Himself to us. This course will break misconceptions about the Holy Spirit and will help you to develop an intimate relationship with Him.
